whipped feta dip with carrot and bell pepper and pita slices, on a plate with an orange striped background

4-ingredient whipped feta

This dip is reminiscent of the onion dip found in the refrigerated dairy section of the grocery. With red onion, it has that savory flavor that hits all the right nostalgic notes for me. The jalapeno and feta add a bit of kick and creamy saltiness to this spread. Pair it with pita or dip vegetables in it for a tasty snack, or eat it with Wavy Lays potato chips for a riff on my favorite nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

  • 7 ounce block of feta
  • 1 jalapeno cut into 1” chunks
  • 2 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp red onion diced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients but the salt to a food processor or blender. Pulse until smooth. It should be thick and scoopable. If it’s crumbly, add more oil 1 teaspoon at a time until it’s cohesive enough to scoop. Taste and add salt as needed.
  • Spread in a serving dish or bowl and top with a drizzle of olive oil. Eat with pita, vegetables, or potato chips, or whatever you feel like dipping in it!

Notes

  1. If you aren’t into spicy foods, remove the seeds from the jalapeno. If you want more heat, use a serrano instead and keep the seeds.
